  2-4 - MTSU Honor Band (maybe) (gr. 10-12)

  23 - Pre-Festival Concert (Bands chosen to attend Concert Assessment)

  1-2 - Concert Festival White House Heritage HS

  15 - Deadline for Croft Solo and Ensemble

  29-April 1 - Depart for Chicago Trip (Senior High)

Welcome to the Martin Luther King Academic School Bands Website!

MLK is an academic magnet school in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System. It has an emphasis on Health Sciences and Engineering. The school consists of 1100 students and 50 full time faculty members and it is located in downtown Nashville. Students are accepted to the school based upon their academic testing performance. They come from all parts of Metro Nashville/ Davidson County.

The band program is recognized as one of the finest in the state and the Southeast. We have 300 students actively involved in the program in one of 7 bands. Our groups consistently receive superior ratings at concert festival and we have one of the highest number of students selected by audition each year to participate in our all region bands.
